I have signed with a new label before and negotiated the wording of the contract to give me some security. I can't see my stuff being a perfect match with their preferred sound tbh, and they don't seem to have done that much over the last few years.
The 'contract' (i've asked for a dummy) says little more than 50% of profits from sales and gives them the rights to remix etc. I don't really smell a rat, but I don't smell a tasty bun either.
Saying that I was't out there looking for a label and they came to me, so no biggie
