What are your perceptions of Baltimore, Maryland, USA?
I'm sure the majority of you haven't been to the city, or know much about it... maybe apart from what's portayed in The Wire...
Anyway, wanted to see what do you guys think of Baltimore, MD. What are you perceptions of the city? What type of things do you associate with it? Or what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the city mentioned?
When I was 9, we drove through downtown Baltimore on our way back from Florida. It was hot and all the windows were down, and as I made my observations about the city I said, very loudly, "Hey dad, they should call it BLACK BALTIMORE!" in a totally racist/stereotypical black person voice - sorta like Cleveland's wife.
Anyhow, my dad got really pissed off and rolled up all the windows. Needless to say, we didn't stay in downtown Baltimore for very long.
I was there over Memorial Day weekend. Stayed at the Tremont downtown. Too many crackheads and bums. Had a bum try to sell me coke and bargained down to the point where he virtually want to just give it to me for nothing. Liked the harbor but that's about it.

Funny you should post this I was researching a mid Atlantic vacay, Chincoteague island, Ocean city, etc.
As far as Baltimore, friend of my went to John Hopkins. I would not want to live there. The word crack comes to mind.
