Heavy drinkers live longer than people who have never drank

...even after controlling for a bunch of variables:

http://www.time.com/time/health/art...2014332,00.html

But moderate drinkers live the longest.

A little alcohol does the body good!

Exactly - when you get a cut, what do you put on it? ALCOHOL.

It heals from within. That sweet, sweet balm of Nepenthe.

Hmm people with health effects.. ... maybe the ones who didn't complain didn't get put on as many drugs since alchohol was already moderating health issues. hmm then the pharmaceuticals the abstainers ingested increased their mortality rate?

The study seems sorta weak imo.

THis study isn't based on the effects of non seniors who drink.
This is only how alchohol effects old age. Not youth and adulthood.

Read the fine print.

This should read

after 20 years 55 to 65 year olds who have required outpaitient care within three years of starting the study - who drink.... have a lower mortality rate than those in the same group of outpaitents who do not drink.

So between age of 75 and 85. those who drink.....

Also if seniors who don't drink are poor their nutrition is likely poor also... #1 cause of death - bad nutrition.

That's what I was thinking. Did Budweiser just buy shares in whatever Publication Company makes Time, or what?
