Is this a good price for a Little Phatty?

I went to Guitar Center and they have a demo unit for $800. Is this a good price for a Lil Phatty? It looked like new.

Basically what has already been said, YES. I've never seen a LP at Guitar Center for less than $1200, this is definitely a great deal!

Great deal maybe, but think at least 3 times about whether its really what you want.

There are better options out there for analogue monophonic synths IMO.

Well its a personal taste thing innit.

Personally, I see more use in a semimodular synth like the doepfer dark energy or oberheim SEM, which you can fit into a modular setup later and continue to use forever. The LP is a good synth but its a one trick pony with a big name. An SEM has an extra oscillator too... And the DE and SEM are cheaper too, with more features.

Basically, I just think there are synths with better features than the Moog for a cheaper price. They just don't have the huge name on the front.

RANN posted that Bog Moog told him he couldnt' tell the difference between a real voyager and the arturia emulation if I remember right. So thats another consideration.

You need to find out if its a Stage I or a Stage II. The Stage II adds several features including MIDI Clock Sync which are very important, IMO. $800 is a great deal for a Stage II, but a Stage I can be found for a bit cheaper than $800.

Especially if you have to pay tax. Never underestimate tax when buying locally. On a high ticket item, it easily adds $50.

Then I feel its a bit thin to come with an opinion like that about it. I have one and for me its the most important purchase ive done.
