My label distributes promos digitally now. That seems to be the most common method now a days. We used to use mypromopool.com but we recently switched to VIP Ultima and we're very happy with the results. VIP Ultima has a much larger list of participating DJ's and their system practically requires feedback.

I've gotten a few from people, here. I can't speak from your side, since I just give all my shit away, but from the receiver's side, it's kind of cool to get something you weren't expecting. I wish I could do more for them, as far as word of mouth, but hopefully the good will brownie points are enough. They were really solid tracks, too .
i used to have a big list of email which i would send all my releases to in mp3, 2 weeks before the release. im guessing alot of them ended up in spam so that method didnt really work but i always got answer from radio-stations etc, DI.fm and more. Im looking for a new method would love to know more about VIP Ultima and MyPromoPool? THanks.

i've sent some promo via soundcloud of my last ep to some famous djs (they accept this method)
after a month (or more) the responce has been --> tracks shared with 8 peoples --> 0 listen
so i don't send it anymore, just a big waste of time...and they say ''we'll listen at all the tracks you send''...
I'm actually in the process of setting up a promo/mailing tool myself. It will be cheaper than the competition (in most real-life cases - especially for small labels), and hopefully have more features, being more flexible and using more of todays possibilities.
As soon as I've finished my new content management system (which should have it's first real implementation done this Friday) I will extend it to add an elaborate bunch of mailing-related features and then I'm good
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

Open to the public of course. In the majority of cases it will be cheaper than music worx (7,5 pounds per mailing) or VIP Ultima (min 29$ a month). My cheapest available package will be about 32E and is good for 12 mailings. It is also possible to pay per mailing but that will rule out any type of discounts.
You do have to set up your own mailing database though. I will not be providing any emails adresses. But they can be imported and stored in my application and be monitored extensively.

be sure to shamelessly promote your service in the production studio once it's launched. it could benefit some of the people that frequent here regardless.

It will take another few months I guess. I'm keen on (finally) graduating by the end of this school year so work is coming second. I'm going to try to make this project part of me graduating but I'm not sure if that's possible just yet.
