I know a lot of people hate sub-genre titles, but it helps define sounds at least a litte, just like you can't say Muse and Modest Mouse are both simply "rock music"
As the genre grows (its been expanding SO FAST these last couple years) more sub-genres will be needed...

The first video I would classify as electro house with a commercial edge. The second video would be somewhere in the middle between progressive trance and progressive house.

true, the "tech" tag on it would make sense... It seems smarter than electro, which to me seems more like a cross of hip-hop or even reggaeton (depending on the artist) that is mixed with beeps and squeaks and EDM beats
