I can't wait! MK9 will return back to its glory 2D, Bloody, Fatality roots.

Wow..nice. If they can get the gameplay as tight as the old 2D games the way Capcom did with SF4, I'm definitely buying it.

I can't believe how good this looks. Huge MK2 fan and seeing the old stages recreated like that is amazing. Just hope the gameplay is good.

WOW. I liked MK2 so much, but then 3 was much worse, ultimate ever much worse, those 3D i don't like at all. But now all those stages from MK2 rebuilded in 3D and complete gameplay in 2D it's just amazing!!! I like 2D games much more, than 3D. Comix Zone (completed hundreds times), Earth Worm Jim, Donkey Kong, Battle Toads & Double Dragon, Rock'N'Roll Racing (played that game again and again, really awesome replayability, completed that game on hard for a few times), Dune 2 (completed for a few times) e.t.c. I played all days, i joined gaming so much back in school years on NES, SNES, Mega Drive, but with coming 3D era my interest has almost gone, i hated so poor 3D Playstation games. I think, that reanimating all good 2D games in new 3D look with sequels to Comix Zone (for example) or Adventures of Dizzy would be like a breath of fresh air in videogames for gamers and profitable for poblishers/developers. I really want to invest money into developing of favorite 2D game sequel. Bring back lovely 2D games!!!!!!!!

Mortal Kombat is an upcoming fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series.I have played this game.Mortal Kombat games that always get good reviews and sales.I would have liked it to have remained 3D.I loved Deception and Deadly Alliance.

Nice name drop with Comix Zone, but I have to question why you didn't like MK3...you bring up 3D, yet the game wasn't really 3D until MK4. Both Ultimate and MK3 were basically enhanced versions of MK2 from what I remember. Mortal Kombat Trilogy will always remain the best MK ever.

I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who was wondering about what happend to MK 4-8. I never knew 4-8 were made, and I'm a quasi-hardcore fighting gamer.

Can't speak for djash, but what put off of MK3 was the combo system. It went from simple and intuitive juggles/counters/specials in the first two, to a "how long of a button sequence can I memorize per character" thing a la Killer Instinct.

I have not played a mortal kombat game in years. I think the last one that I bought was MK 4, and I heard the last game that came out but i hope that MK 9 will be good.
