Question Can you recommend me anything from Armada that doesn't Suck?

So I happen to have a Beatport coupon for 25% off anything by Armada. And as much as I love a good deal, I still hate Armada. So does anyone know of any diamonds in the rough that are worth listening to?

I presume this counts for all of Armada's sublabels? If so, there's loads of stuff worth checking in my book.

Just checked, and it only applies to Armada proper.

Well, Armada on Beatport is just a bucketload of compilations of stuff from its various sublabels, so you could try to find some of the tracks I mentioned on those. Also, they have some neat collections of early Signum- and D-Factor-stuff that's worth checking.

A lot of the stuff that is signed to any one of Armada's sub labels appear on mix compilations that are, themselves, signed to Armada, so you can pick up those tracks that way.

For example, "Benz & MD- Turning the Curve" is released on Electronic Elements, but it appears on Markus Schulz's Ibiza '06, which is released on Armada.

OK, well I've only got enough cash for an album under $15 (crappy allowance), so is there anything so mind-blowingly awesome I just need it?

This is not a deal. You are spending money for the sake of it on tracks you don't care about.

Well, not entirely; as far as I understand it, he's asking for recommendations in order to determine if there is anything worth caring about, and thus worth spending money on.

Unless you just have every intention of taking advantage of this coupon in order to pick up some new tracks, regardless as to whether or not they resonate with you.

The point of such sales is to raise an artificial interest - a track you wouldn't normally bother with is suddenly sold to you under the pretext of a bargain.

What I'm saying is that unless you find something mind-blowing (unlikely) don't buy anything. Spend the $15 on music you really want.

Sales like this generally tap heavily into my back catalog scouring, though. There's a slew of older material that I've just constantly postponed picking up in favor of newer content that I've recently come across, despite my true fondness for it.

In many respects, it feels analogous to browsing for DVD's, and coming across a heavily discounted copy of a film that you've seen, you've enjoyed, and that you like the idea of owning, though could never be bothered to purchase because there's just a fresher selection to pick from, in which case the bargain price is the incentive you finally needed to make the purchase. I do concede, though, that scenarios like this call into question the extent of which something is truly 'wanted.'

You don't need to ask TA about that material. It should already be in your hold bin.
