I made a thread for the previous version of this track before, and according to the feedback I reworked the track from the ground up. I think I took care of a lot of the leveling issues and the mix sounds much more solid to me, but I could use some feedback anyway.

I recycled a lot of ideas from my track Story in this, especially the Erhu sample and the bass synths. Keep in mind that was intentional, I'm not entirely happy with Story musically so I'm reusing the production ideas I liked in other tracks.

would fade in the early melodic stuff before the bass. There are too many layers too start. The more layers you add, the less impact each layer has. The pick up to the bass needs something to give it a slight anticipation whether it be a bar of no kick or some other effect. The first break comes too soon and since it is already represented in the second break, I wouldn't bother with it. The kick accents sound awkward and unsupported. The main drop again needs something to drive it over the top. It is like you are climbing a mountain during the build and you slightly miss the top.

Overall, the mix is just a mess. too many elements fighting for space. Give each item a ranking as far as importance and voice them that way. The kick has this really high end presence that adds to an alright harsh mid high - high content. WHen everything comes in , it sounds like a click.

I think once you sort out your sounds and bring to the front the most important elements , it will sound less cluttered.

I'm not great at feedback on uplifting but what I think is good here is that pounding bass. The track has a boundless energy and life to it.

From what I can tell the mix is perhaps a little fighting for space.

Yeah there are quite a few melodic layers I was working with here. Around 5 or 6 at a time, I think.. that's probably too many but I rather liked the layered sound.

I can't say much in regards to the mixdown. It sounds absolutely fine to me and delivers quiet a plesant listen.

The music itself generally wouldn't quench what I tend to look for, but I will say that I quite enjoy the melodic elements here. Actually, I'm a fan of your melodies in general - it's just the arrangement that never fufills me.

Certainly an accomplished uplifting tune. Well done, chaps.

I like this track... has a nice classic feel to it... Keep up the good work man!

You should pay more attention to the low end, the bass drum in particular is pretty clicky as already mentioned. The percs seem almost nonexistent, either there really are none or they get completely lost in the mix. I don't like the clap either.

Melodies seem OK, though nothing that would really stick in my mind. And a 2 minute breakdown is just waayyyy too long.

Too much master compression, what a shame.

The snare/clap/whatever it is is in my opinion FAR too compressed.

I would try high-passing the bass a bit so that 52 Hz fundamental and any notes below it get reduced in volume. Nothing too drastic, but rolling this off will improve bass clarity.

The bass at 1:47 definitely needs a high-pass filter to roll off its low-end rumble and offset. Same with the bass drop at 2:02.

Seriously though, stop compressing so much and let the mid instruments SPEAK. The whole lower mid-range (with the exception of the breakdown) is held back and hardly audible.

I don't have much compression in the track, but.. alright. I'll see what I can do.
