Wondering if there is a way to clean up the midi cc information. I'm working with WIVI and each instrument has all of CC messages as I have recorded each track using the modwheel to control the CC parameter. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to smooth out the information so that there are less nodes but it still keeps the relative form.

Input quantization or couldn't you just filter out cc, altogether?

the problem with quantization then delete duplicates is that it tends to create staircase lines. Looking for some sort of way to extrapolate the general line and make something with as few nodes as possible.

ok another question

IS there a way to apply a crescendo via the transformer so that it applies it to the already established velocities. Basically the groove is how I want it with the right velocity values but I want to fade it in. I could automate the channel but I am curious how it could be done via midi.

To answer you first question, I need more info: have you got the hyper editor open? and what exact CC's and perameters are you trying to alter?

To answer your second question, there is a crescendo function under the hyper editor -> Transform Menu -> Crescendo.

If these don;t solve your problem, I've got another way of doing it but I don't want to bark up that tree if it's not needed.

the problem is that the crescendo affects all values regardless of their relationship which destroys the integrity of the groove. PErhaps there is a way to lock certain states and then apply the algorithm on the locked state. EDIT : there is a function called rel creshendo which didn't seem to work before but I played a little more with the settings and now it seems to do the trick .

The first issue is just a CC lets say 1 in this case. I use my modwheel to record the info and then I just want to smooth out the data as I don't need that many nodes to give the wanted enveloppe.

solved the second issue. It is probably a better idea to automate the audio channel as it is non destructive automation but I was still curious.

And issue 1

The function proposed works rather well
