Question Audio 4/8 DJ as a production interface?

Although I was originally only interested in CDJs, I am now considering buying Traktor Scratch Duo/Pro whilst it's still half price to use with my Technics SL1210MK2s.

I would be using Traktor with my desktop computer, which I also use for music production. The specs of the computer are as follows; 2.51 ghz AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core processor, 4 gb of RAM, Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card, three 7200 RPM hard drives, Asus M2N SLI deluxe motherboard running Cubase SX3 on Windows XP 32 bit. I have been experiencing problems such as glitches in the audio when I bounce parts and distortion when the track is nearing completion, which I presume is because of the sound card, as the rest of my specs appear to be up to scratch. Would the Audio 4/8 DJ interfaces be a worthwhile improvement over the Soundblaster? how do the Audio 4/ 8 compare to dedicated production interfaces in the same price range such as the Focusrite Saffire Pro 14?

Cheers for any info.

I bought traktor scratch pro with audio interface for production in mind. Im pretty new to production and at the moment it does what I need it to and its sounds fine. Once I start to develop more it may not be suitable but Im not at that stage yet!!

I bought traktor scratch when it was full price so at its current price I would say its a bargain.

I'm using the audioDJ8 now as my interface, because my previous card, and break out box clonked out.

If you do everything inside the computer, and hook a midi controller to it... you will be fine.

It sounds good, and works well. Remember, this thing was made for Traktor (DJ'ing) not for production... it's all unbalanced I/O (rca jacks), a Mic input, and a headphone jack. There are no balanced I/O, and no digital connections available. I don't even bother recording any of my hardware because all my I/O is hogged up by Traktor.

It has MIDI I/O so you can hook up a keyboard, and rock it out like Jerry Lee Lewis.

the audio kontrol 1 is made for production , but in essence the audio 8 has the same output/input quality as the ak1
