i have a question...i've been asking around this question and get no real answers....i want to know what i need to make music like sasha, atb, bt, crystal method, prodigy, kaycee, energy 52, john digweed, and so on...i tested out fruity loops and reason but it sounds cheesy...it doesn't really sound like what they make...reason is not bad..but is that what they are using...also listen to this song on youtube...blackwatch- northsky....how exactly does he make that sound...do they have studios? is it synthesizers and hardware they have? anything you recommend....i bought a roland jp 8000 and it doesn't do crap. any suggestions? |
You don't become a production expert overnight... Practice makes perfect. You need knowledge of manipulating synths, processing sound, and doing creative things with effects for your productions to sound professional.

It's not the tools they use, it's the way they use it. There are countless pro producers using FL, Cubase, Reason, free softsynths, free vst plugs, shitty outboard gear, you name it...
It's only when you realize the producer (you) are the weakest link is when you'll start to improve. Until then you will wander the web downloading every piece of software you believe will get you closer to that pro sound.

And this just proves my point.
Just FYI Sylenth is quite possibly one the best vst's for EDM today. This just shows how close minded you are. Unless you are looking for a program that instantly makes a BT tune with the click of one button; In that case, no. You can stop producing right now and come back in 5-10 years and ask the same question.

What you need to do is to learn sound design + sound engineer.
u should buy a good vst like sylenth1.
get lots of additional presets, while also try to make your own sound.
