I've seen Diplo drop this kind of stuff live before and, honestly, it wasn't bad. Some of the tracks are pretty stupid, but I like the slowed down tempo and overall rhythm of the stuff. Wouldn't mind seeing where it ends up in a few years if it's still kicking.

If you want an idea of what more original productions sound like check out DJ Orion or DJ Munchi.

People don't go out to the clubs for the music anymore, they go for the party.

Disagree. When shit music dominates, good music thrives elsewhere. I don't think the problem has ever been the music so much as it's been the listeners. Doesn't it seem a bit illogical to complain that "music sucks"? It didn't get that way on it's own, and nothing's stopping people from seeking out something better/more to their tastes.

The problem for many is finding the good music...whether in an underground club or on the internet. When it becomes to hard to find the good music people either give up or just loose interest.

I definitely agree that the music seems to have changed. Maybe its just me but I don't feel tracks go for that emotional attachment like they once did. It seems every track is just trying to have that Big Hit sound. How often do you hear people say a DJ just dropped Bomb after Bomb. IMO that's not the way a night out should be....there needs to be those emotional tracks that take you on a story that lead up to the bombs.

Music is all subjective and relative. If there is a certain type of music that is growing, becoming popular, and "replacing" your music it's because people like it (whether they're on this board or not). So when music is getting "bad" it just means that the music you once had tastes for isn't as popular now and is being played less. Music you currently like probably grew and replaced a certain type of music that came before it and the people that enjoyed that music went through the same deal.

Solution:
-keep an open mind
-explore different genres
-don't turn off a track as soon as you don't like it, give it a chance
-goto a DJ you typically wouldn't go see

The alternative is just to sit back and listen to your same favs over and over again. Then you're just that old ass weird bald guy sitting in his beat up Dodge Ram head banging to shit from the 70s living life in his own little world. Have fun with that....
