Astronomy gimps
A question more directed at UK people really. My cousin is quite the little astronomy nerd. He has a telescope, nothing fantastic but not too shit either, but he can't really get the full benefit of it because of light pollution in our area.
For his birthday, which is coming up soon, I was hoping to take him somewhere where the light pollution isn't an issue, but finding hotspots is proving quite difficult.
I found this map:
http://www.britastro.org/dark-skies...ionmap1.html?1O
Which is fantastic, but it's not interactive. I can't easily pinpoint from it the precise locations where the light pollution is acceptable.
Anybody know of anything similar which I could use? Something similar to that but actually tells you co-ordinates, postcodes, etc.
Cheers.
