I like very much this track. What I can say is; I like how the mix stands together, in the first minute, maybe I would add some depth to the drums by adding a delayed element. For example the 0:59 secs effect. The break sounds a bit raw for my taste, some soft elements could help, not too much. Very nice kick-in after the break, good vocal fx arrange, here my nitpick would be to add some variations..

I did a little work on it, so we'll see where it goes from here with a little more focus to small edits and stuff like that.

Hey there. First of all, pull the master volume down. There's no need to be limiting or mastering yet. Your bass range sounds a little muddy. Try rolling a bit off the sub on the kick for starters. This should make it sound tighter and focus the sound on the bass frequencies. There's also a noise in the left channel whenever the kick hits, so I would look at removing that. Also try cutting the kick around 52 Hz (this being the root note of the bass, but it does change so experiment) and seeing how that helps it sit alongside the bass. The kick and bass are also sitting a little loud compared to everything else, so lowering them in the mix might help. Also try high-passing the bass slightly to improve clarity. In general you're focusing the sound too much on the bass range - the sub-bass in particular - and cleaning this up will improve mix clarity. Great work so far though!

Mix wise it's nice and up front and pretty tight. I agree that bthe kick and low bass may need a little shaving. Nice unusual sounds here such as the clap and the white noise with the lead in break 2.

Seems to be headed in a good direction.

Hey, great job on coming up with a mixdown this time.

What's that noise I hear in the kick in the left channel? Try compressing your kick if you want a fuller sound. If you can get the gain reduction to go right with the beat of the track (shortish attack, slightly longer release) then great job. And I still think you can roll the sub off the kick with a tighter Q. It's all sounding a bit flabby still. You could also focus the treble a bit by boosting it on any (treble) instruments you find appropriate.

Maybe try centring the lower frequencies on the bass at 0:15 a bit towards mono as it's sounding a bit wide on headphones. Also the level could come down a bit, as with the toms. Your bass range is getting a bit loud and peaky now, be sure to check any polarity and make use of compression to target peaks.

The bass at 0:58 sounds maybe a little loud on bass frequencies now that I hear it soloed. I may be totally wrong here but high-passing it could increase upper-bass definition, though it will reduce valuable fundamentals that big systems will be able to play.

I know it isn't sounding all loud and mastered now but don't be discouraged. Mastering can do a lot, but try to find out what's causing the peak level in the mix and making appropriate changes. Overall I think you can push in a bit more treble frequencies. The bass is sitting nice around 2:15, so if you can get the parts at 1:30 and 2:30 to sit at the same volume then you're on the right track. And don't make the synth at 2:36 any louder, and the hat at 2:43 is also on the right track.

But, I think I'm over-analysing this now.

I really like how the mix glues together, how the synth comes in in the break and mostly the bass mid highs overall balance. I like the kick you are using, but I would be tempted to use a harder kick, to really push the track!

i really love the synth sound you use at 1:00. after it comes back at 1:28, there is a clap/finger snap noise. I think that is a bit loud.

There is something missing, although I can't put my finger on it. extra pads maybe? overall a great morning track.

Went and stayed on Ocean Beach in San Diego all the way from New Mexico this past week, came back with inspiration, love to know what you guys think A slight boost on the DB just so I can have it a bit louder for presentation, I didn't notice it affecting the overall sound very much but I could be wrong. Anyway, push the volume and enjoy!

Family, friends, the smell of the beach even though its winter, hard to beat that!
