bluray software for pc?

thinking of getting a bluray drive for my pc and was wondering if anyone has had experience with different types of software to use to play them? preferably free, simple, and clean (don't really care for bloated software with tons of features no one would really use).

Pretty sure VLC can do it. Though its h264 decoder leaves a lot to be desired in terms of speed.

I doubt that actual bluray disks work with VLC because of all the DRM crap, maybe it will work on old blurays but you will have to wait for keys for the individual discs to be hacked.

Also, a legit bluray player REQUIRES an HDMI monitor. If you don't have an HDMI cable connected from your computer to your monitor, you are out of luck.

Grab PowerDVD if you want to play legit blu ray disks 100% of the time, works great for me.

Windows Media Player Classic. Better than all of those bloated other programs.

Why would anyone want to watch Bluray movies on their computer?

Unless, I suppose, the computer is hooked up to a big-ass HD TV.

Whatever

My laptop is my only media player, hooked up to my TV of course.

I remember seeing laptops come with Blu-Ray players by default a couple years ago, then they stopped. I heard something about compatibility issues with Vista, but never got a solid answer.

Question for you American folks: What's a decent Bluray player cost in the US these days?

I don't know about which ones are considered decent, but I remember seeing Wal-Mart advertise some for like $79 recently. Probably low quality I'm guessing though.
