My Findings at NAMM

Sup Fella's... Sorry for another NAMM thread. I've been going to NAMM for the last two days and I'll be going back today and maybe tomorrow. I'm gonna post everything I find in this thread, and sorry some are gonna be DJ related as well and that's cuz I'm just gonna copy and paste everything cuz I'm doing this on different boards.

Day 1 was mostly for DJ stuff cuz I was there for 2 hours. But Day 2 I was there for 3 hours and I spent most of my time in the production side of things.

- Got to meet BT at the Izotope booth. He was there showing off his application that got bought out by Izotope. It's called Stutter Edit. It looked pretty sweet. He's gonna demo it today at 2, so I'll try to video tape the demo and post it back here.

- Got to meet Ken of Crystal Method at the Avid booth. TCM was talking about the new Venom hardware synth by M-Audio. They mentioned how they used it on their latest track.

- Got to meet Rob Papen. He showed me his new app called Punch! It looks pretty sweet. It's half drum machine that lets you use synthesis to build your own drums. It seemed pretty easy and pretty straight forward. I liked it.

- Messed around on the Dave Smith booth. I liked the Tetra 4. I made some sound that sounded pretty sick. But, it had some distortion on it that I couldn't take away. When I asked the guy that works there to help me out and take out the distortion, he couldn't figure it out. I was gonna ask Dave Smith himself, but he was too busy taking shots with people! hahahaha

- Rane was showing off their new SL4 Serato box that doubles as 10 IN / 10 OUT HiQuality 96 kHz, 24-bit audio Soundcard. It's $899!! The box features dual USB ports for easy laptop switch over. This would've been a sweeter soundcard if it had Midi. Unfortunately it lacks it, so you'll have to use it just for recording anolog sources or for Serato.

- Rane also announced their new MP25 mixer. This mixer is pretty sweet for the studio because it's USB and it's midi mappable. This mixer allows you to record each channel individually inside your favorite DAW such as Ableton.
