my opinion:

turntables first, with a mixer without beatcounters, forcing you to learn the analogue feel, beatmatching by ear etc.

I'm still working on that part.

then CD players for those rare tracks, samples, etc.

then Final Scratch for playing mp3s

then whatever else the future holds for DJing. but, i stress this, tech12s first, to get a solid foundation.

Im kinda deciding which way to go, i think im prolly going to get the vmx100 mixer and the gmenini cdx-602, but im tempted with a package deal that includes the numark TT-1650 and vmx 100 mixer..

What you guys think?

i say both, but agree, TTs are better learned first.

i learned CDJs first and it's odd just pushing buttons here and there, and the feel isn't right. w/ TTs, ur body is more spread out and u actually feel like you're doing something.

i spin with both, usually buy vinyls of songs i like, are rare, or fit into my set, and buy cd compilations, singles, mp3s, wuteva for big commercial songs that aren't worth getting on vinyl.
