For those of you that have a Native Instruments Audio 8 (or presumably any of their other USB sound cards) have you ever checked under System Preferences (in Mac OS X) and seen a line item they have for the soundcard called USB Streaming Errors?
I have quite a high number... What is this, and is this "normal"? I am experiencing this on a brand new computer with the latest Audio 8 drivers installed.
I haven't yet, but a quick Google search has yielded that "software lock" is a setting inside Trkator
I don't remember setting that, but I guess I'll check.
As for your issue, I guess if there's no audio problems...maybe try upping your latency a bit? I mean no harm, no foul really

My box is stuck on Software Lock, it won't let me change the type of input (Control Vinyl, Control CD, Phono).
Interesting. I didn't know that the interface could software lock. I would check in preferences. Probably some funky setting in there. I'm using my 8 on Torq and haven't noticed any type of drop puts. Is your computer connected to the internet while djing? I've noticed on my Mac if I have Airport connected, I'll see some latency in Torq.

the software lock can be configured in the audio 8 dj settings panel. i don't know where it's hiding on windows systems, but on my mac it's in the audio 8 dj driver application folder. after launch it will sit somewhere on the right of the top application bar. i guess it goes to the system tray on windows
as for the streaming errors, i haven't had that problem so far, but have you tried changing your usb cable?

Ok cool, thanks! I have a mac as well, I couldn't figure out where that software lock thing was, I thought it was in the Traktor options.
As for the USB streaming errors, I checked mine on Saturday during a gig and had a pretty high number but zero issues with playback. I wonder if it's just a normal thing.
Since we're all on the topic of the Audio8 anyway...has anyone noticed problems with their Traktor cables? Mine keep crapping out, I'm on my 3rd pair already.

I don't use them any more after a few members on here told me they've had problems with them shorting out etc.
Dj Katmaus was unbelievably kind in sending me cables he had made up in the states (i live in Ireland).. Been using them without any problems what so ever. Actually plugging cdj's directly into the sound card unless they don't reach.
