jesus its just a symbolic act. their support is nothing compared to whats coming in from elsewhere. its a nice thought, if its not promotion of their website laying in the bottom. i suggest people giving money to red cross or something directly instead. why do they need to advertise acts like this? i find it weird. maybe i should post all over my facebook that i donated 100 dollards myself. i like that people donate money but please shut up about it.

Completely agree.
However I don't and you don't know what a days take is at beatport. Let's say they take in a stupid amount of money from all the consumers around the world.

Imagine if Itunes did something similar? I know they have set something up already but with the amount of tracks that they sell per day I'm sure any help received through any form of fundraising is welcome.

Let alone this is a novel way of giving while still getting something in return as well. As selfish as that sounds a lot of people are selfish and this is a different way of raising money. I thought it was/is clever.
