I haven't given it a go myself yet, but it looks like it could be useful if you're trying to create a particular effect but can't work out how to do it, or good for beginners learning about the effects of different frequency bands etc.
i mean in hindisght it seems like a good idea i suppose, and i guess its cool for noobs like myself who want to learn eq more, but isnt it kinda like dressing up a doll? you change its clothes until you find the right pair, or in this case the right setting.. i guess its cool that it remembers what ur going for ..though

Most people could learn how to use an EQ in the time it took to watch that video. If you're too f#$%ing stupid or lazy to learn how use an EQ and listen to the results, then production isn't for you. Thumbs down.

So it will always end up going for a big smilie face EQ gain as that's exactly what noobies will think is the better version in comparison. That's like making a limiter that gives me differentr settings and I only look on what sounds "best" and for beginners that would be the "loudest" in comparison, so definitely not a good choice.

Your primary focus should be making good music. That's all. No one gives a shit how you do it. And the people that do are fags.

seriously i went into this thinking it was going to be an ear training tool, how to identify certain frequencies w/ out Q scanning. That be a tool i'd buy, i still try and use the tips from "Mixing with your Mind" but i still find myself resonant scanning a lot

Me too. That or seeing the resonant frequency on a frequency analyser. Whatever gets the job done. Various people have their points of view - "don't mix on headphones", "don't frequency-sweep when using EQs".
It's good to see the reasons they provide and to be aware of them when doing what they say not to do.
