Another Sound System Question

My friend is looking to set up a powerful system for outdoor and indoor parties at her house. She has 2 acres of land and says that on average she has about 150 people come to her parties.

She's looking to have a "club quality & power" sound system with 3 speakers (i'm assuming arranged triangularly).

If someone could recommend a mid and high range speaker brand/model and a mid/high range amp, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

by 3 speakers she probably means sub, mid, high and not three channels because that will be weird. its kinda pointless giving advice without any budget, I can just name the best possible setup. whats the space indoor? maybe just go for some active 15" and horndriver for indoor. outdoor is completely different. will it be covered from rain/wind etc etc? lots of loose ends here. what about neighboors/police? id start with 4 actives as said 15"+horn indoor. these can be used as monitors laters or just add a sub and crossover and it will probably work outdoor too.. again whats the budget?

this is decent for a cheap money: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/B215A.aspx

I would suggest the QSC K or KW Series. These amazing boxes can get loud and self powered. No need for an external amp. But as stated, what is the budget?

thanks for the input. i'll relay some of these to her.
she says her house is 3300 sq ft.

budget: 5000-8000 USD for all equipment including cdjs & mixer.

i confirmed with her that she really wanted that much sound outside but she sounded like it would be no problem. she was pretty adamant about it being powerful. quote "i wanna rock my home off its foundation"

as for weatherproof, im assuming she would just bring the speakers inside/outside as needed.

Damn. That's a nice budget. I never heard of a homeowner wanting to buy gear though.

I demoed the QSC KW Series for a party. 2 tops, 2 subs. I was blown away. In the past, I never had luck with QSC, but after using them. I ate my own words. They ran completely flat. No eq boosts or cuts. Straight out of the box. The K line is really nice too. They're the little brother to the KW's. Either route she wants to take, she won't be disappointed.

Thank you. Does the KW subwoofer run off the output from the top?

Yes. I was using KW 152's, and they have a line out (XLR). I was running my subs separate.

get four of those behringer actives i told about at the top, connect them directly to the mixer with XLR (chain two and two). have them inside most of the time and out when needed - add subs later if needed, probably not. for dj setup just go with whatever. djm800 cdj1000 or something like that.

I would highly recommend getting a subwoofer especially if playing outside as the bass will spread itself thin in such a context.

you could go for a setup like this

which is the infamous sr450 mackie speakers coupled with a Mackie SRM1801 subwoofer

or just get a single sub

so 600x2 speakers + 700 for subwoofer.

adding around 50-100 for cabling+ 50-100 for stands

This is all active (powered) gear and the subwoofer includes a crossover so no sophisticated outboard gear to deal with by someone who can't be bothered or isn't in the know.

There are a number of other cheaper alternatives which I would recommend as a way to augment the system but not to as the main gear.
There's always the possibility to spread 2 cheaper speakers at the back of the garden and there's a wide range of cheap options well below 500 a piece from Behringer and other brands alike(that I can't be bothered to comment on ).
