It does have a very different feel - in a good way. Love the bass sound you picked and the mix sounds great! I am looking forward to hearing it finished!

I have to be honest here and say I liked it up until the bass came in at 1:15. Just the choice of sound and EQ on it didn't work for me (lots of upper bass, no sub or lower mid definition. The piano sounds far too simple. Subsequent melodies work but the way they're introduced fails to maintain interest. The breakdown was nice, i.e. the piano works really well here. The general idea is good but as it stands now it's leaning almost towards boring.

yeah the elements aren't too engaging. the grooviest thing is the perc and even that is still pretty simple.

Are you moving that bass-line into more of a groove as more elements come in? It kind of sounds like you are but that could just be instruments offsetting one another. It starts off as sort of place-holder material but then starts emerging into something a little more substantial and, not having heard the previous version, I liked where it's going. The percs are definitely this track's strongest asset but it just sounds like you've spent most of your time developing those, right now.

I guess u guys are right, it's repetitive atm
stuff i need to look at:

- sub bass: Using my MOOG slim Phatty now for bass, i really like the simple plain texture of this sound, but has great highs and lows, but lacks a bit mid, maybe play with it's filter a bit more

- bass pattern: i think i can delete 2 or 3 more notes, so that it rather becomes a more minimal type bassline than a running bassline

- repetiveness: atm it's not much more than 16 channels that work nicely together for 8 measures, now i need to start building interest and variation, to better level than just turning channels on/off like i did in this version.

- overall sound: very happy with the overall sound & mix, though the arrangement is not there yet, i am confident i will crack the code there eventually.

Raphie I've loved some of your tracks but this is just not grabbing me, here'w why;

The first perc loop is top notch - one of those that announces a cool groove to come, but then those toms / congas come in - I hate, they are too late 1980's Phil Collins - nothing like as groovey as the first perc.

The track then FOR ME goes all happy kid candy - but thats just my taste - I don't want to neg you out but at the same time I want to be honest, this is not a patch on your other work.

Go back to that first perc loop and build something very cool, tee hee, sorry mate.

ThnX, might look at the percussion again, but first sorting out some counter melodies which should address the repetition of the track, updates will follow soon. I am happy with the mix as well, so not much more to do there.

The bassline drowns out in the kick, and doesn't seem to fit. It seems very separated in the mix. The percussion is tightly bussed and nice in the mix, but it's the only thing solid that I can hear. The bassline is not helping the track. I bet if you made a much better bassline, it would move this track along so much better... I feel like it suffers because of it. The chord progression is pretty weak, with no concise theme or hook.

Hey man, i gotta say I really like your track! It has a pretty sexy feel in it with the fitting percussions and they're nicely working with the kick. But as the others say, as soon as the bass comes in, it loses the feel, the idea of rolling it is quite cool but maybe using higher notes on it as well in between (like an upl. trance bassline maybe?).

The melody is very very nice as well, good job there!!
