Getting bogged down with music production

Lately ive been getting really bogged down with my music production, questioning if im good enough or if i can even make any sort of career out of this.I sent my tracks to people, and i get the response it sounds ok but im lacking in areas of skill, thats fine. But my problem is ive got so caught up in everything i dont have a clue how to improve myself anymore, i just feel completely confused of how i can improve my productions and skills.Anyone else see were im coming from and maybe offer me some advice?

Find the pleasure in making music again freed from objectives. That's what did it for me after a long writer's block.

Making a career out of any skill requires a lot of time, dedication, practice, learning, etc. If you feel that you're not good enough, then your choices are essentially to:

a - work harder, smarter, and with determination,
b - be content with mediocrity and little/no chance for success, or
c - pursue a different career.

If you are producing trance and thinking of making a career out of it, my advice would be to talk to some of the guys around here who have had successful careers (e.g., Lolo, Storyteller). I suspect that they'll tell you to wise up, make music as a hobby, and choose a different career path with a higher likelihood of success and better income.

As far as improving your skills goes, look for ways to get more experience. Work with other people and share knowledge, step outside your comfort zone and produce things that you normally wouldn't, learn a new instrument, etc.

When you reach a moment like that what I would advice is to take a gooood break.
After this remember...is important to "breath music production". Hang around, read discussions, analyze things, try always to understand "the concept of a thing". Before you ask "how I do that" you should ask "why I do that"?

With time things will clear up for you, and you will see a ray in between the fog.

And take it easy, don't rush.
