Do any non-Americans like American accents?

Lots of Americans love the sound of British (especially RP) or Australian or other sorts of non-American accents, but I've never heard any non-Americans say that they find any of the various American accents sexy or interesting or anything like that. So, do any non-Americans have a "thing" for any of the U.S. accents, or are all of the speaking styles here more or less grating (or just boring) to you all?

The upstate New York accent is terrible. Then again, so is the Canadian one. In general, I don't find any regional American accent to be appealing at all.

I know an English chick who loves American accents. I don't know why.

I think it's also tricky, because there are so many different American accents. Most of which are terrible.

I'm personally a fan of my own accent

God Lews won't ever shut up about his non-regional diction

Vomitous, for the most part.
Nothing about any American accent appeals to me at all.

I may be wrong here, but I believe our (American) accent is the most "neutral" of the English-speaking accents from a linguistic standpoint, so it very well may be the most boring. Perhaps Lira can shed some light on this?

I think there are groups in other countries that like the California surfer accent and the Texas cowboy accent, though.

Californian accents tend to sound very cool. I also love a good deep Southern drawl, a la Seasick Steve. There is no better accent with which to dispense worldly wisdom or tell stories around an open fire.

Yeah, that's why I wrote "any of the various." I don't mean to specify just "U.S. TV newscaster English."

LOL seriously? I hope you're not from Ontario.

Also the Texas Cowboy accent is the worst of all, with the Mid-Western "don'tcha know" coming in a close second.

I'm from Morocco.

Southern/cowboy/valley girl talk is absolutely atrocious. It's just as bad as the Quebecer 'French' accent. Omg, earsore.

Can we toss in Minnesota, South Carolina, and New Jersey too please?

I like Florida accents (if there technically is one) because for the most part, they sound generic. Ugh... I used to hate when I would be back up in the Northeast and people would say, "You have a southern accent!" just because I didn't have one of their horrendous accents. I'd just be like, "Uh, yeah spend a week with me in the Carolinas and then tell me my accent is "southern".

I'd say the worst is the NYC non-Manhattan accent (Queens, Brooklyn, etc.). Midwest is kind of annoying to me, too. Of course, I'm from Atlanta so those are pretty much the opposite of what I grew up around. I also hate the redneck hick accent. It drives me crazy when people think that's what a southern accent is, because it doesn't really sound like a normal southern accent at all.

California is pretty neutral, very little in the way of accents. It's around the same pace as a southern accent, but without the drawl. It's also the only place in the US where people constantly say "No Worries", I assume due to the closer proximity to Australia.
