You know, the GAIA does all those typical cheezy/phasey type roland sounds which you don't get out of nexus or Sylenth. and it makes a good midicontroller, i sold my Novation Remote SL61 and put a $100 towards it and now it's a GAIA

VariPhrase is a sort of sampler / VA synth / Melodyne / Alchemy mashup on steroids
It's totally unique from everything else i've been playing with before. You just put a sample in there and you can do everything in the time/pitch/formant domain that you ever imagined in a very intiutive way.

put some spoken word in there and it sounds like a vocal out of an old Enigma track, singing and harmonies intelligently by just playing chords.

Exactly, and remember, this is only Youtube, Don't thin kthere needs to be a battle between VST or outboard, both have their own strenghts.
But these type of sounds with that much texture, depth and modulation are unheard of in VSTi's
Ofcourse you have your fair share of sampled over reverbed pads and plucks in Nexus, but this is something else.

The V-Synth can do 1 or 2 of these kind of patches at the same time (using chords) before running out of polyphony, but those are the kind of sounds that give tracks that bit extra even noobs hear.

You can get a 2nd hand V-Synth XT now for around $800/900 also has a great vocoder and sampler. (much more useable than i.e. shortcircuit)

I have the Roland Fantom 7 and it has some wonderful sounds but that V synth sounds awesome, mmm, you got me thinking. Sometimes I forget how good the old masters at Roland are.

I've come to the conclusion latley that I personaly do prefer using my 2 hard synths - tweaking on the fly just seems so much easier and just adds this little extra something I can't quite out my finger on.

Right I'm off to see how much I can sell my Fantom for.

I will checkout V synth prices, but also be checking out Polyevolver.
