Does anyone know anything about 7 pin midi cables and what synths use them? I always thought that the standard midi cable comes with 5 pins and that pins 2, 4, and 5 are used. So is this 7 pin midi cable going to be a new standard?

hmmm as far as I know the 5 pins din cables were enough....I don't know anything about GM2 tho....that flopped anyways.

Maybe the 7 pins din cables are for other appliances than midi

yeah i would also think that 5 pin cables are enough.
