is the consept metropolis new?

hi i am from lilletrøm in norway and its going to be a big party in the city called metropolis...is theis new or has it been arranged in other countries before?

I went to Metroplis last month in San Francisco. I personally don't care what they call their parties, as long as they throw a good one.
