I'm a total noob and by no means an audiophile. But I've been looking for speakers to hookup to my Mac and entry level Numark system and was looking for advice.. Whats the best I could get for under $200 for trance, house, and other EDM? Trying to find out what particular specifications I should be looking for. Does trance tend to have a lot of midrange, or no?
So far, I've come up with two possibilities, and the main pro/con based on reviews:
2004 Logitech Z-2300 (this shits ancient, but apparently still in demand)
+particularly strong bass
+loud
-weak midrange
Do either of these perform better for trance/EDM? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

you need cables man, good cables equal good setup especially if you want a lot of dynamics with slam.

going to be using Numark's digital system Mixtrack pro w/ Virtual DJ with my Macbook. Though, I've heard a lot about Traktor.. so I may try that as well if its compatible. Yep, thats all I've got so far, along with headphones.
Though, I'll admit, I'm just trying it out right now.. seeing if I develop mixing into a hobby at least before pursuing more expensive equipment. You think compromised accuracy is okay in the beginning? If all fails, at least the speakers can be hooked up elsewhere

Used in conjunction? so expensive for a starving student yikes!
Anyways, I'm curious.. would that system you paired up still get the window shaking woof.. I mean.. 'oooonce ooonce ooooonce' without a subwoofer?

guess I'm looking for the best of both worlds.. something in between! *unrealistically hopeful*
hmm probably something with more oooonce.. mixing with headphones anyways, right? the speakers are just presentation. in that case, would consumer speakers be alright?
