So is that in a good way or a bad way....

Yep, from Johannesburg, South Africa to Vancouver, Canada.

Now all I'm waiting for is the Visa to come through.

I was talking to some people from Johannesburg who were visiting Vancouver a while back, and they said that in comparison Vancouver felt like the absolute safest place in the world =P

Phaaah, dunno about that. I'm used to wandering around JHB. A place is as safe as you let it be. You run around scared & terrified all the time and it'll be like that.

If you don't let everything get to you - JHB is fine.

It's funny, 'cause two of the latest shows that have come out on TV here are Cold Squad & DiVinci's Inquest. If there's even a minute amount of truth in the shows then Vancouver would be a druggie infested city Amazing how many different ways they can show someone being killed and then the crime solved. LOL.

i dunno about the safest dude
maybe its safest if you go to places like north van and west van (those are like the upscale areas) but if you go to downtown vancouver, or east side vancouver, you'll see that those tv shows have some truth in them
i honestly dont know why vancouver is considered so safe. i do NOT feel very safe in this city, ive been living here for three yrs and id rather not walk at night, even in the daylight some places can be kinda freaky.

you'll have to see for yourself widget, everyone sees van in their own way.
hope your visa comes in soon too

yep, I guess I'll have to see everything for myself.

It looks like I'll be staying across the road from where Summerlove is happening - so will be interesting.

bah! vancouver is a pretty safe city. no need to worry, especially coming from joberg! i know some people from there, who are now living in ontario. they love canada, except its not quite hot enough they say. heheh, personally, i wish i could go to SA, diving with some sharks in cape town etc. w00t!

good luck on the visa!
