So liberating. After a few days you wonder why you ever used it in the first place. I highly recommend it to everyone.

So, tell us exactly how you deleted Facebook. I just checked and it was still there.

I don't know. Facebook makes communication more convenient but also more shallow. It's like you write someone a message directed at them, but at the same time its displayed for all their friends to read as well. So you have to think twice before you say what you really want to say. It loses the whole personal aspect of it. Sure you can private message someone but emails a much better medium for that as normally emails are longer and more in depth than a facebook message.

....get's the biggest bullshit of the day award.
Unless you're a complete pecker you should be able to work out how to send someone a message that doesn't appear on their "wall".
No offence intended.

Right, but just because Facebook is there, that doesn't mean you can't use other forms of communication. You can still E-mail, call, or write letters if you want.
As far as I know, there isn't a size limitation on FB private messages, so it really isn't any different than an E-mail to a friend.

I've thought about it too. Mainly just because its a huge timewaster for me but I won't delete for 2 reasons. # 1 it keeps me in touch with friends and family from other countries. #2 people love my status updates and laugh about them when we're out. #3 its easy to tell what chicks have a thing for you.

Yea true, but if you use email then what's the need for facebook other than the wall function? I guess my main question is this - under what circumstances would you prefer to write on someone's wall instead of sending them a personal message?

Points 2 and 3 are quite valid. Although for the status updates, my sense of humor changes depending on who I am shooting the shit with. And I can't really be fucked to use the privacy functions to hide business and family relations from my friends.
