What happens when most of the big name DJ's retire???

I was just thinking about this last night. Guys like Tiesto, PVD, Oakie, Ferry etc etc are not that old but in a few years ya gotta think that they'll get sick of trance or just want to retire. Now when they spin their last set it will sure be one sad day Now I just wanted to strike up a discussion on what kinda tunes they would spin, where they would spin, if they would announce before or after their set that they would retire etc etc. It's a sad topic to me, I don't every want to hear Tiesto spin his last set but that day will come sometime, unfortunetly.

they'll probably open a club or a bar somewhere , otherwise they will spend the money they earned in a beautiful house somewhere

Im pretty sure they'd spin with everything they wanted, all the classic songs, favorite venue and whatnot. But I dont think you should worry about when they retire, I mean it's not like trance was invented when they came along. There will alwyas be someone new.

yes, eventually one of these days all of our favorite dj's and producers will retire but that doesn't mean its the end of trance or electronica for that matter. new dj's and producers will replace them and i'm sure the music will evolve with the younger influence as well.

Unexpected things happen, they might not have planned for their last set to actuially be the last set they play. But it will open up some slots for newcomers.

It is all a cycle, when they retire.

We (Young DJs) will take their place and we will be giving new kids new idols, it's all part of life.

Someone has to keep the DJ and Trance spirit going, and that someone is us.
