Thumbs up Views on Ian Van Dahl

I've listened to the Nulife sampler of Ian van dahl's album 'Ace' and it wasn't actually that bad at all. I've forgotten what's on it but I think runnaway and nights on java are on it. I only listened briefly but they sounded quite good, no cheesy lyrics either. Has anyone else heard it? whats your opinions?

Utter crap.

and what makes it worse, Australian dance reviews are labelling Ian Van Dahl as the 'new trance pioneers'

I'm not a big fan of the original mixes of the Ian van Dahl tracks, but there are generally good remixes of the stuff made up, same thing for Fragma and a lot of the other more commercial dance music acts.

So, I guess you could say I'm not a big fan of van Dahl itself, but still, they *are* responsible for the original concept of the song, which gives the remixers something to work with.

I suppose the easiest way to sum it up is to say that I'd never buy an Ian van Dahl album with only the original/album mixes on it, but that singles are usually a decent purchase.

Take that as you will I guess...

But there latest sampler isn't bad at all i think nights on java is very well produced and builds well, its a tune that if it was labelled under a well known producer every one would say thats its good

Ian Van Dahl is a criminal. He should have his knob twiddling fingers removed and shoved up his arse for purveying pap euro pop and calling it trance. It isn't, it's pop music. Not that there's anything wrong with pop music of course
