Saw him on thursday in a club near my place. Damn rare for such a big name Dj to show up in Ausria (even though the Techno and drum n bass scene is pretty developed). Anyway it totally rocked. It wasnt the typical "in your face" techno thats basically just tryin to be hard as fuck, nope it was groovy one with many subtle melodies until richie build it up to the extreme and knocked my socks off with evil acid lines and beats that made me hold my ears and jump like a mad monkey. Unbelievable was also the mixing but I think thats a known fact. The little canadian was having two records playing at the same time, constantly plus edited it with his laptop..NON STOP. Always spinning, clicking turning something to make the 3 hours i experienced ONE big fucking song. Seriously it was always mixed...

Okay im not a techno expert but that was quality!

I think he's one of the most underated dj's around! Richie Hawtin rocks!

Great DJ! He's a classic 'Techno' stylish DJ, he and Josh Wink.
funky and groovy is his description i think. I'd like to see some more mixes and stuff by him, I got the Decks, EFX & 909, and i'd like to see him live, oh yeah.

I think that Richie Hawtin is the best DJ when it comes to skill. He plays like 60 tracks in a 2 hour set!! AND HE'S CANADIAN!!!

Yup,Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman is one of my fav producers as well.I DO hope I'll get to see him one day,as his sets are usually off tha hook.(He spins with 3 decks,FX,a Laptop with FinalScratch + an 808!!! )He's a bit of a nerd,(I mean,DE:9 was probably one of the most over-ambitious mix-cd projects EVER,but he actually managed to pull it off.Respect!)but that makes his sets even more enjoyable.
