So, I've pretty much held off on buying an LCD/LED/Plasma TV this whole time. I do most of my watching on the computer monitor which is LCD obviously and of a decent size (21"). I'm going to be looking to purchase a TV soon, however, and was looking for some advice.
There seem to be a lot of factors to consider. I am most likely going to be looking at a 32 inch display. I understand that at 32", you're not really going to find any 1080p, because from what I understand it doesn't really make a difference at that size. Would there be a noticeable difference between 1080p and 720p? I always told myself that when I do get one, it will be 1080p.
Refresh rate. I see some TVs that are 60Hz and some are 120Hz with the latter being more expensive. In what ways would I notice the difference between the two?
Another thing is viewing angle. I understand that some screens come with an IPS display which gives you a much better picture at angles. Are there any TVs that should be avoided becasue of poor angular display?
What about blacks? You know, ni@%#%#$. Just kidding lol. But what is the measurement/specification I should look for when determining how sharp/deep the black is? I'm not really the go into the store and pick my model type. I pretty much always already know what I'm going to buy before going in. Besides, I don't trust sales people to tell me what's what.
Oh yea, I'm probably going to be looking at spending around $400 for the TV, which seems reasonable based on what I've seen. Maybe not for an LED but definitely for an LCD. Speaking of which, besides the fact that LEDs can be made thinner and consume less power, are there any manjor differences in performance?
Thanks y'all
edit: I should mention that I will be playing games on it

Normally I'd say you should wait for shaw's input on this, but you're only looking to spend $400, so lol.

why not? This is not for a living room, it's for a bedroom. And I know it's not much, but I wanna make sure I get the best TV for the money.

Do you mean you're going to be using it as a computer monitor?

No, but the bedroom has limited space and I think a 32 or a 37 at most is the right size. I do plan to hook up my computer sometimes though, yes.
