Knowhope you have to be careful with that concept.
Child porn laws have been setup to protect victimization of children. Children that have been actually physically born into the world and have actual chemical DNA that matches that of Homo-Sapien (or a more evolved form Homo-Evolutis if you have been following scientific journals)
I am quite aware that in Canada just recently there was a person that brought manga back from Japan and was apprehended at the international airport in Toronto and that Australia has outlawed most if not all manga/anime releases that have not gone through the rigorous gauntlet of approvals.
Anime or anything that is in the same category(Games, novels, or other publication mediums) is in my opinion of the imagination. Something thought up and dreamed up. The laws that prohibit the distribution of content that was born in the imaginations of us is something that I disagree with. Lets for example look at toy-story, blue-dragon, zelda, etc... these games and story lines have for the most part eluded to the fact that these are imaginative characters that are under the age of consent. So, if you by your logic think that me taking a likeable attitude towards an anime character is child porn. Then I ask you two questions.
When you looked at a past relationship or look at your current one do you not think of this person when they were young be it in photos or your own imagination? Afterall, those images do not house actual human DNA.
Moreover, how does just the thought and not the physical action(downloading ACTUAL images of children or going out and preying on ACTUAL children) constitute victimization? Theres a difference between thought and action.
