The map was developed to show the approximate frequency and location of hunger-related deaths in the world. Whenever a country on the map darkens, it signifies that a person has died from hunger in that country. The map is based on the statistic that 24,000 people die of hunger each day (see ABOUT HUNGER for more information), which is equivalent to one death every 3.6 seconds. Statistical data from the United Nations is then used to determine the relative frequency of hunger deaths in each of the 32 countries with the highest hunger mortality totals.

mhhm, i think this should go in the chill out room since this room is one of the most isolated on the forums, even the mods rarely look in here (i have a theory that the reason for that is that most people these days stopped understanding sarcasm and jokes )

I agree this thread should be made sticky, and put in the chill out room. it certainly isn't funny, although i do think it is a cool website.

I have been a regular visitor of the hungersite for years.

some tips:

clear your cookies, then come in again.
then you can donate more than once.

click the sponsors websites. you don't need to buy anything, but just clicking through will allow the advertisers to think that they are getting lots of traffic to their site, and that equals more money to the hungersite, and more money to the people who need it.
