Eddie Halliwell will probably pop up on the EM soon, since he's such an upcoming dj + he's signed with Jules' label.Armin might be there as well, since he's making such a big name for himself in the UK.Marco V might be popping in too, seeing as Fergie and a lot of other UK djs are caning his tunes right now.The rest:dream on.The fact that Pete Tong has a legion of house headz listening to the EM,and that most of the hardtrancers listed haven't established themselves for real in the UK yet(despite some appereances at Gatecrasher),means that hardtrancers like Dumonde,Cosmic Gate,Giotto DJ and Scot P will never set a foot within the EM-Studio.(I hope I'm wrong, believe me).Ferry's uplifting trance-style will probably never get any credit in the UK,as trance didn't get that popular over there until the progressive-influences came along. But then again,if he keeps making these different, bangin' tunes like Needlejuice or Punk, this might change.Let's hope so,as this will give him the chance to play a lot more new tunes, than what he usually does in those short sets, where we've heard like 90% of the tunes before.

Oh,so since I'm norwegian,it's impossible for me to have any knowledge on the electronic music scene in the UK?Well, since you think I have no knowledge at all of the UK scene,I'll elaborate on some of the things I posted:
| quote: | | Ferry's uplifting trance-style will probably never get any credit in the UK,as trance didn't get that popular over there until the progressive-influences came along |
This is based on the things I've read about him in several UK club-magazines.They weren't actually praising him(some hadn't even heard of him)until he brought along Punk and Needlejuice. The same thing goes for Tiesto. He never made it in the UK before he changed his style.Hell, some guy in Muzik thought that Urban Train was "oldschool"-epic trance like Tiesto made back in the middle 90s!!
| quote: | | Armin might be there as well, since he's making such a big name for himself in the UK. |
I don't think I have to comment on this one.You know as well as I that Armin has been around in the UK by now.
| quote: | | The fact that Pete Tong has a legion of house headz listening to the EM,and that most of the hardtrancers listed haven't established themselves for real in the UK yet(despite some appereances at Gatecrasher),means that hardtrancers like Dumonde,Cosmic Gate,Giotto DJ and Scot P will never set a foot within the EM-Studio |
Sadly, the only trancers that have made it onto the EM so far are those that spin uplifting trance w/prog influences(except Jules, but he's a resident @ Radio 1),like Matt Hardwick(although he plays some hardtrance too),Scott Bond and Luke Neville,or are such big name djs that their reputation alone can get them a gig, like Oakey,Tiesto,PvD etc.
Now,this might change, seeing as Jules signed Dumonde and that they have spun at Gatecrasher(along with all the other djs listed). But so far,I don't think an EM from these people is likely to be broadcasted.Which is too bad, since this would be a refreshing change to the usual trance EMs that are broadcasted. And think about it:I think Pete Tong considers the fact that he has a lot of house heads listening. He probably gets enough flak from them when he broadcasts PvD or Jules. What reactions do you think he'll get if Dumonde or Giotto get an EM?Even more flak.Even though the trancers will like him more doesn't help him much,as he is a house dj himself, and it is here that he has his audience.Hence, the chances of a hardtrancer like Scot P getting an EM are very small.
That's what I based my post on.But since you guys know so much more about the UK scene than a norwegian like me,then by all means, enlighten me on why I'm wrong.
