Rumors are May 26 and 27. Your thoughts on it coming back for another year? Call me crazy but I would pick EDC over Ultra any day. Better set up, cheaper, better crowd, more room to move, plenty of places to take a piss without feeling like your in the most disgusting place on earth, some actually grass, my list could go on. Yes, the main stage can't compare and a Carl Cox arena is second to none but the bottom line is I had way more fun without the hassle of Miami bullshit. |
I'm glad it's coming back and if those dates come out to be true that's even better. Will give Ultra some competition, since Insomniac is knocking on their door.
I loved the Grass and everything you mentioned, but honestly the first day of EDC was quite boring until Gabriel & Dresden and after that it was fun.
Saturday was way better in terms of line-up for me at least. Markus, Ferry, Benny, and then PvD. Who with his stage set-up was insane. Then again, it's PvD.
For the pricepoint its not bad. I think I bought mine early-bird for like $100, so not bad at all. Like I said the line-up was pretty lackluster so if I go back I won't even go right when it opens I'll just wait until the act's I want to see show up.
As for Ultra, I agree that it's a bit dirty but this year its at Bayfront. So that won't be an issue. Again I got my tickets early-bird so that was like $200. I don't feel shafted like the rest of the folks who had to pay close to $500.
It'd be nice for Insomniac to come into Miami and run a 3-day EDC. Honestly Orlando is just not a good place for it to be. Who wants to go to an after party that will close at 2-2:30? Especially when leaving EDC at 12 and having to drive through traffic. By the time you get there parties done.

Can't wait for this year's EDC Orlando! I live 2 miles from the Citrus Bowl...last year I only did the first day because I had already bought tickets for the Detroit festival. Was definitely a mistake -- all of my friends and girlfriend went to EDC both days while I flew to Detroit...very awkward. DEMF was amazing, don't get me wrong, but I had been wishing for an Orlando festival for a while and it happens I only get to go to half of it!
I think it's going to be so much better this year. I think 2011 was a test run in Orlando for Insomniac. People showed up and it was a success so I can only imagine they're going to really do it up well this time around. The Friday lineup must be better though!
