Behold, my arse. Ink

Just an observation ...

But they definitely aren't looking like the force in the scene that they once were, and if anything they look to be on the decline. A couple of things point to this such as:

- A further increasing amount of commercial DJS being booked.

- An exodus of local talent like (Carlo, The Junkies, Nathan quitting).

- Several "no name DJs" playing at Zone with an insane cover.

- Headliners usually loyal to INK playing at other venues in the city.

- Weaker long weekend line ups.

It seems like they have gone on total auto-pilot mode with the clubbing / music side of their business.

Perhaps a by-product of their dabbling in restaurants / lounges / condos etc. It almost feels like clubbing side of their business (which is what brought them their success in the first place) has gone on the back-burner with less importance and attention being paid to it.

Most definitely - but Ink has been crumbling at an exponential rate as of recently...

This year's Family Day lineup (one of the few big parties nowadays that you could almost certainly count on Ink to provide a semi-proper lineup) pretty much sums this up. Pretty safe to say this is what to expect at every all access party from now on...

What's the story behind the Junkies/Carlo/Nathan & Ink anyways?

ink is just giving their target audience what they want....now that you guys are older you are starting to sound more like me 3 or 4 years ago.

right..

3-4+ years ago they were booking techno/tech-house/house legends on a regular basis, i was in my early 20's and enjoyed myself as would any 30+ year old. It has nothing to do with age, they are just constantly booking shit talent, its sickening and sad at the same time..

it started with circa vs guv competition to see who can kill of who first. Guv won but they were left with shitload of commercial djs and there's pretty much no going back now.

If you didn't notice already it seems Footwork is the force to be reckon with now. They seamlessly took a great idea, to a great club, formed sold promoting team, and now became smart booking agents for the club. Of course not forgetting the promoting teams they are working with who bring in certain talent (I/O, Platform, etc.

My question is... Does Ink have a spot in Footwork's booking at all?

Who's going to take over booking for cz? Or is it going to crash and burn with Ink?

Is Ink going to continue on the mainstream plunge with The Guv and end up like Circa?

Really? The last couple of times I stepped foot in FW, I was very disappointed on several levels - sound quality, music, crowd. Just one humble opinion, but as far as cutting-edge venues go, it's long past its due date.
