Use another kick.

Seriously.

Kick samples are abundant, and life is too short to waste time tuning them.

you can use any software program that can change the pitch of the kick. for example, fl studio has this built in. or you can use a program such as xfer records - nerve. just drop the sample into nerve and then you can change the pitch.

you would want to change the pitch in order to put the sub part of the kick on key. so if the sub is mainly at 55hz, that would be an a note. if "a" is an off-key note, consider repitching the sub of the kick

That makes zero sense.

If you say lower the pitch of the kick from 80hz to 30hz, then yes you will significantly reduce your headroom given that a 30hz waveform will take up more headroom. However, if you go from 30hz to 80hz you would increase your headroom.

Overall, don't worry about that. Just mix the track correctly and there won't be headroom problems.

just load the kick into an ESX24 instrument and tune it there (coarse/fine)

Can someone post a tutorial ? Like to sound higher , do i increase pitch ? Or is it not so simple. ANy presets i can download for club kicks.

so this secret trick also works for snares too. man, i wonder what else i can pitch.
