Denon Mixer and CD Players

I'd like to start DJ'ing some time in the next couple of years once I get better at producing my own tracks. I'd like to start it out just as hobby and see where that takes me. I was looking at different mixers and CD players, and I came across the Denon DJ DN-S700 Compact Tabletop CD/MP3 Disc Player and the Denon DJ DN-X120 Two Channel DJ Mixer. I know Pioneer is the DJ standard, but I don't feel like spending so much money on something that may turn out to be only a hobby for me...does anybody have any advice regarding Denon products or just any start-up DJ equipment in general? Any advice would be appreciated. I know this is probably a topic that is beat to death on here.

I saw on their website that the S2 is for $449 from the beginning of February until the end of March...but is an all-in-one controller the best way to go when just starting out? From what I've researched, buying the mixer and decks separately is better. I could be wrong, my knowledge on this is very limited. Thanks for the feedback.

Hmm...that's what I was thinking...do you think the Denon decks and mixer I mentioned are a good choice? I don't have the funds for anything Pioneer, so I was thinking about those.

I don't think getting 1200s these days is too smart. Ever since they've cancelled production the prices have exploded almost everywhere. And there's other good quality decks for much cheaper, they just lack the cult status.

Fuck you.

The S2 will be really easy to sell for nearly what you bought it for if you find out you dj'ing isn't for you.
That piece of shit Denon equipment you've chosen you won't find anyone stupid enough to buy.

And there is no point in buying anything other than technics decks, and those are gonna set you back a bit, plus a quality mixer, and a shitload of old records, just to find out that you need to get Traktor Scratch because it is boring as shit playing old records plus maybe a midi controller for controlling loops and fx.

Nah man, getting anything but the 1200s is stupid. The 1200's have cult status because they are built to last and can take ALOT of punishment, and they are easy to get fixed, and the motor is really nice to play on as well. Sure the ttx' have insane torque, but it looks like a spaceship and it feels like plastic, and that's top of the line turntables, going down in price it only gets worse.
I played on Omnitronic dd-2250's for many years before getting 1200's and the learning curve on shitty equipment is far steeper than on club standard equipment.

You'll end up wanting technics, so there's no point in buying subpar equipment, especially when you don't even know if you like mixing.

Man, you guys are giving some really shitty advice around here.

Well...the 1200's you guys are suggesting are out of my price range, considering I'd have to buy a mixer as well. I appreciate the suggestions though. I don't really want to mix with vinyl either...I would have to obtain records opposed to burning CDs. I don't know...I guess I have to step back and just give it some more thought. I want decent equipment but I don't want to spend over $1000 starting out. I also want equipment that is good for a beginner. Any other suggestions would be appreciated...
