J Peters, AKA Sunkid has been a record nudger, decorator and promoter in Halifax for over a decade. J helped to organise a dozen parties in and around Halifax, as well as the city's only ever ambient sleep concerts in 2002 and again in 2005. He was also a member of AOM, which put together the very sucessful Mayday 1999 party with DJ SOS and Hugh Sharpe.
From 1999 to 2004, J hosted the only psytrance radio show in the maritimes, on the Halifax based community radio station CKDU-FM. J has played at the Om festival in Ontario as well as Evolve in Nova Scotia. He has played with headliners such as The Advent, John Aquaviva and Astral Projection.

As part of the small but dedicated psytrance scene in Halifax, J has also been one of the most active decorators, producing fluoro banners, string art and installation art for a half dozen parties since 2004. In 2007, J relocated to Vancouver, where he has continued to evolve his style, playing for Organix, BeLeaf and Godizus events around and outside of the city.


In 2009, J teamed up with Safiire to become known as Irken Kitties. Their style is full-on with a focus on darker and harder melodies, although J usually likes to throw in a few classic goa tracks to pay homage to his roots.
