So what does tranceaddict consider good trance to be?

I want to be cool like you guys, elitist and all.I love my 90's and early 00's trance, but dammit every now and then I just need new tracks to listen to.

But supposedly everything new I listen to sucks balls accoding the the elitists on this site. I love Be Your Sound. But I also love Stars & Shines. So what kinda shit gets you guys hard nowadays?

Have a listen to this:

I don't think this is massively deep music that requires developed taste. I think this is high energy, enjoyable dance music that isn't cheesy, predictable or sappy.

Nice set! Thanks, J. I wish more DJs would mix it up like that and not care about genre tags...

If it weren't for the psytrance elements i would think that was good but it's not the good old trance that i use to listen to.

And i don't think there is, absolutely none!

I prefer older trance songs, especially german productions from the 90s and progressive tracks that digweed and sasha use to spin during their 90s heydays but I also do enjoy some newer compositions. I generally try and go with the flow and believe naturally genres change . That being said, I think today there are a lot of minimal and techno tracks that have a better "trance" sound than what gets labelled as trance.
