came all the way from Boston for this.
this review was from Avalon's board for people who are unfirmilliar
w/ Aria:
ok, its Monday morning and my ears are still ringing!
This was by far my best clubbing experience to date, we got to the club at around 2:30 or so to the pounding progressive house sounds of Yaz who I thought was excellent. He spun till about 4:30 or so and turned things over to my man Steve Smooth who totally reworked the atmosphere of the room and really got everyone jumping. Im certain this guy is well on his way to his own career and he looked like he was having so much fun up there, which is always really great to see. Aria has an amazing set up..with huge light structures that raise down to the floor almost close enough for you to touch them, and hundreds of red beams that shoot up through the floor, huge speakers raised just above the floor and cranked to the max, and 4 very large screens with really cool visuals and footage from the booth playing surrounded the large dance floor. Crowd was into from the start and everyone was friendly and smiling and just having a blast. Bill came out at around 5:30ish and just completly destroyed the place, he was spinning some some the most dirtiest, funkist beats ive ever heard--i think it had alot to do with the response he got from the crowd and the level of the bar that steve had set before him. It was my 10th time seeing him spin and he went way past my expectations, playing alot of firmilliar BBB tracks and alot of new stuff ive never heard. The Dj booth is really quite simallar to the one in axis cept u can walk behind the booth and look through plexiglass...i got some really great pics too that i cannot wait to develop. this was also Bill and Steve's first visit to the club as well and they were very impressed with the club. All i gotta say is i am so down for Sasha there on the 18th!!!
what an absolute blast.
im so glad some TA's are open minded enough to post about a chicago house DJ
thanks for a great night Montreal!
