I am in complete agreement with trancelover. Go onto google and do some research on trance structure, sound design, music theory, and mixing with whichever DAW you use. Also listen to your favorite trance artist and understand the structure and elements used in his/her track. For my drums, hi hats, cymbals, etc I never really use a loop, this only takes away the very important values of 'DIY' (well to me atleast). Music takes time, to grow, to create, and to catch the ears of fellow trance goers.
