IMO Breakbeats!
Oakey had them in his sets, Zabiela makes em popular, Lavelle and Seaman fantastically mix them in their latest GUs, Sasha feaures them in his sets and Airdrawndagger is basically a breaks album.
New Stars like Layo and Bushwacka! and already widely known ones like Hybrid strike the scene with fabulous releases.

Any1 agrees? if not, which genre was in your opnion the most predominant/sensational/or just best in 2002 ?

Really good point. I agree with everything said here. Breakbeat has become big. Zabiela does it best IMO.

trance, all over realy, its been a mixed year for trance!!!!

but i think in new york, we have been leaning toward tech as the most popular genre lately.

either breakebeat or progressive. however i would definatly lean more towards progressive. This year alone the genre has gained phenomenal attention and growth of fans.
