Lets start with this - I do like your vocal and you should do it much more often Richard, and yes this track sound cool so far to the extend I even start to like this "Style of Yours" lol - One solid WIP man !!!

Cheers,

Darek

I'm not and expert when it comes to vocals but I think that they could use some more eq work to separate it more from the song. Also, spoken parts are a bit unclear too. I enjoyed them though. Do you use any vocal enhancing tools like Melodyne?

Your percussion is awesome as usual, and I love the main riff.

The vocals could definitely use some melodyne haha, but you could probably make them work. They're kinda Depeche Mode.

My biggest issue though is after the vocal build up the drop doesn't gain more energy, It stays where it is, you know? Most of the percussion is already given away and so is the main riff, so I think something new needs to be introduced, or at least, the existing elements need something to make them more exciting, you know?

I think with a little bit of work the vocal would be fine. Your timing is a bit off but it only needs a tiny shove with Melodyne or something.

I think you need to take out a little bit of low end from the vocals and push them into the 'telephone' EQ area a little bit, and also tame the mid-highs in the track when the vocals are happening.

The reverb on the vocals is totally wrong, it's like the track is here, and the vocals are there. I'd be temped to use delay instead of reverb to give the vocals their space, but perhaps with a little bit of carefully chosen ambience on top, or some longer reverb for spot effects.

Thanls for the 'advices', I'll set too work on it, and make a better structure too, with stronger break and sort the vocal (not sure if it's doable as I don't have melodyne, will try cubase variaudio), and sort the verb on the vox - it's funny how you forget to go back and sort such things after slapping any old verb on as a place holder.

Sean I did a sort of teaser drop leaving the bass till later and I was concerned this would leave it feeling damp, and sure enough it does now seem to fall flat so I'll deffo up the anti.

Cheers all.

PS, trying to get a collection of finnished tracks together so this feedback is not in vein. Haven't bothered sending to labels for ages as I cant be arsed unless I manage to make something properly worthwhile.

I love the track, but the vocals, whilst interesting let the track down. If you were to get a pro vocalist to sing them, you may be on to a winner.

sorry - have to be honest, and they are letting a proper dirty tech track down.

I think your'e right, listening at work today it sounds fukin nasty as a soaked dog, if only I'd realise this at the time instead of wasting hours cooking shit up. Plus the synths are ill defined and some rising noises are masking in the drop.

Fail.

I liked my last techno track - that dirty dark stuff seems to be all I'm ok at.

Well I can only speak for myself and sorry that some of TA's my not agree with me - I found this vocal really interesting and attractive in this particular track, do I think that it should have better treatment? - yes, it should as Geoff mention already in his comment but I let you decide what seats/sounds (in your view) the best in this track.

Please don't let anybody tell you that you are not talented, that you shouldn't produce anything - this is simply b******t, just stay your course, keep producing, improving and definitely singing as for last few months I could see/hear some impressive improvement in the way you structure your music and blend every sound+your vocal in it - it is just matter of time with you Richard and for some member over here, no I don't kiss anybody ass for the sake to be likable guy over here - it is simply honest opinion from the guy who see/hear the music a bit different way then some of you here.

All the best man and keep doing what you are doing and good things will happen (I already said that to a few guy over last two years and they are doing pretty good so far - so stay positive and do what you are believing in).

Cheers,

Darek

The vocals are fine. They're just not treated properly. If you stripped back a lot of 'pro' vocals they'd not sound as good as what you already have there. Plenty of them would be a lot better though, obviously.
