Just a cool thing i kinda started doing. Basically, it is a little like MB compression but instead of a compressor, you are applying a bit of rhythmical amplitude change in a certain band. Kinda the technique of using a uythmic trigger for a side chain on a pad but using new tools that allow you to do more.
So basically, you split into seperate bands, say on a drum or bass or both, Now you seperate that into say 3 - 4 bands. now on say the bass range, use a tool like cableguys volume shaper.
Basically, you are taking a somewhat static path that is constant , applying a slight change in volume to give your track this sort of motion that you can't really hear but you feel. \
I think the reason i started doing it was i noticed that just using a kick and snare and nothing else, i noticed that it just didn't groove. I know, how does just a snare and kick groove if they are on quarter notes with nothing else to reference those elements but when you do this, you can get this sort of motion in the bass region that is subtle but awesome.
I mean alot of people sort of do it with kicks where they will layer a subkick with no attack and delay that so the kick has the initial punch and then this sub component that sort of gives you this rhythmic lead to the snare.
It is really subtle, like 3 db in change, but ya, something cool to try.
What I like to do is I take the beat and lay it out nice on a clean platter, then I have about two tablespoons of Tabasco Chee-poht-lay sauce, one tablespoon sweet paprika, about 2,5 teaspoons of cilantro and a fine sprinkling of salt, pepper and chocolate habaneros. Then I let it marinate for about 4 hours, covered in room temp before I throw it on the grill should be at about 550 degrees, depending on the phatness of the beat.

The particular track i'm doing is going to be released and showing something that isn't finished is just bad business. I don't usually volunteer information so ya, the fact that i did means it is something cool you should try. The idea is do sort of give a bass note that is longer than an 8th a sort of implied 8th note groove to it. again, very subtle. Just think of say one long bass note, and you could adjust the filter so that it sounds like you are playing a rythm, this is sort of the same but you don't lose the bass top. And you can shape your kick sub.
on another note, side chaining is pointless with these sorts of tools. I mean you have so much more control, why anyone would side chain well i can think of a few reasons but not for the kind of stuff most people do.
check out cable guys volume tool, for logic it is my favorite. lfo tools works as well but with logic , you need to run it as an instrument effect.

Sometimes those vengeance hihat open samples will have a low closed hihat spaced an 8th apart that gives the hit kind of a groovy feel.

I've often used volume automation on for example the sub bass as it sometimes can give you a better jiggle than just sidechaining.
Just can't wait to hear your track and see where I've been going so wrong. Especially the groove you got so pinned, be like learnin sabre dualin wit Yoda.
