finally mastered ableton's chorus!

Well not really, but I never took the time over the course of 7 years to learn how to use it. 15 minutes of studying later I am a pro

I made another thread where nobody replies to it, maybe I shouldn't make threads like these anymore, fuck i feel stupid

I'll reply by asking to please link to where you've studied said ableton chorus, as this is relevant to my interdasts and it being 1:43AM...i'm beyond the search engines.

I looked at the official ableton manual.

You can make stuff sound more: flangy, wide, crispy, booming, verby, and dynamic.

Right click on the effect name and you can turn off a high frequency boost labeled "crispy."

Sure. My stuff could probably use more automation.

It took me a while to get how important the level of each track is when mixing for groove. I wasted a lot of time trying out different effects and stuff, when the solution was more simple.

Whatever is loudest controls the track and the focus of the track. Turn up the hats, hats become the focus. Turn up the bass, then bass becomes the focus.

It wasn't until recently I learned this shit. Seems kind of dumb?

I have a lot of books, and dvds and there's only one dvd that mentions volume faders, and there's only one book I have that mentions faders. They don't mention volume automation either...Every tutorial is obcessed with either sound design or effects.

Why bother automating volume when you have the attack knob?

not sure if you are being serious. I suppose i take for granted things i just thought were the basics. But many people still don't understand the basics like aliasing, bit depth and frequency.

I find the best way to understand these things is to actually understand the math. And then knowing how that translates in the realm of things audible.
